The Nam Foundation
MISSION STATEMENT
The NAM Foundation is committed to a single goal. Giving back to children of incarcerated parents. When your parents are incarcerated there is a feeling of helplessness, loneliness, despair, discouragement and embarrassment that you feel as a child. You start to believe that others will judge you for the decisions of your parents. You realize that there are things that you can't do that your friends are able to do. The NAM Foundation is a private not for profit organization dedicated to finding volunteers to help this population of deserving children.
Our goal is to help these children overcome the aforementioned feelings and provide them with the resources to assist in decision making in the areas of social, mental, physical as well as career well being. We here at the NAM want to provide these children with mentoring that will assist them with overcoming challenges no matter how big or small. We strive to create and develop meaningful relationships with the children who's parents have been or are incarcerated. By making a donation to the NAM Foundation you can assist us in ensuring that these children are put in the best position for success, here now in the present as well as in the future.
THE NAM FOUNDATION'S FOUNDERS
Benjamin L. Davis, Phd & Terina Matthews-Davis, MHR have dedicated their lives to the advancement of children who have had their parents be incarcerated during their lives. As products of this event we believe that in order to overcome the obstacles associated with that event, you must create and sustain a community of support. The NAM Foundation seeks to do just that by providing mentoring, life coaching, business and vocational training. We here at the NAM believe in one thing: "There is Power in those who Care"
